Kelly Guerra Sedgwick (mezzo soprano) and ERIC SEDGWICK (pianist) will give a Christmas Concert at West Center Congregational Church, 101 Pondfield Road West in Bronxville, at 2 o’clock in the afternoon on Sunday, December 15th. The program will also include the singing of familiar carols, led by John Strybos, the organist & director of music at West Center Church. There will be a reception with holiday goodies immediately following the concert. The concert is open to all, and there is no charge. |
Peruvian-American mezzo-soprano Kelly Guerra is known for her fiery stage presence and “luscious mezzo timbre” (Boston Musical Intelligencer). Fall 2022, Kelly will sing the title role in María de Buenos Aires with Kentucky Opera. A strikingly versatile performer, Kelly feels at home with many styles and eras of vocal music from Mozart to Héctor Lavoe. Kelly has been a soloist at institutions such as the Kennedy Center, Tanglewood, Los Angeles Philharmonic, Chautauqua, and the Lucerne Festival. A first-generation American and native of Southern California, Kelly champions Spanish language repertoire to welcome more diverse audiences into the concert hall. |
ERIC SEDGWICK has performed with many of music’s top talents including Leona Mitchell, Sanford Sylvan, Marni Nixon, Nicholas Phan, Laquita Mitchell, Broadway leading ladies Sarah Rice, Carole Demas and Debra Monk, and English hornist Thomas Stacy of the New York Philharmonic. He is a staff vocal coach at the Manhattan School of Music, a faculty coach at the Tanglewood Music Center, and has served as rehearsal pianist for the Boston Symphony Orchestra under the batons of Michael Tilson Thomas, Bramwell Tovey, John Williams and Andris Nelsons. He is also a regular pianist for programming at the Met Opera Guild, and has been an artistic contributor to the Opera Theatre of Saint Louis, Omaha Opera, LA Opera, Bard Summerscape and Beth Morrison Projects. He is a graduate of Manhattan School of Music and Brown University. |
